The Abia State Government has congratulated Prof. Ihechukwu Chiedozie Madubuike on his 83rd birthday, describing the former Minister of Health and Minister of Education as one of the state’s most distinguished sons.
In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, the government said Governor Alex Chioma Otti celebrated Prof. Madubuike’s remarkable life of service, scholarship, patriotism and commitment to nation-building.
The statement noted that Prof. Madubuike, an illustrious son of Isuochi in Umunneochi Local Government Area, made invaluable contributions to the advancement of Nigeria’s health and education sectors during his tenure as a federal minister.
It also highlighted his service as a legislator and commissioner in the old Imo State Government, describing his decades of public service, intellectual accomplishments and statesmanship as achievements that have earned him enduring respect within Abia State, across Nigeria and beyond.
Governor Otti acknowledged the elder statesman’s immense contributions to the development of society and celebrated what the government described as his enduring legacy of service and excellence.
The statement further said the governor’s administration remained committed to recognising and honouring eminent Abians whose lives continue to inspire hope, progress and responsible leadership.
“As Prof. Madubuike marks this significant milestone, the Government and people of Abia State join his family, friends, associates, the people of Isuochi, Umunneochi Local Government Area, and well-wishers across the world in thanking God for his impactful life,” the statement said.
The government prayed that God would grant Prof. Madubuike many more years of sound health, divine wisdom, peace and continued fulfilment as he remains a source of inspiration to the nation.
