The Abia Arise movement in Umunneochi Local Government Area has renewed its commitment to deepening grassroots mobilisation and sustaining support for the administration of Governor Alex Chioma Otti following a well-attended interactive stakeholders’ meeting held at the Council Hall, Nkwoagu.
The meeting brought together key political leaders, traditional rulers, and members of the movement, including the Executive Chairman of Umunneochi LGA, Mayor Sunny Afurobi; Honourable Mathias Nwachi Ume, Member representing Umunneochi State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly; the Member representing Umunneochi in the Greater Ohafia Development Agency (GODA), Surveyor Ike Orika; the Umunneochi Coordinator of Abia Arise, Chief Innocent Ejiuwa and members of his executive team; Ward Executives of Abia Arise; His Royal Majesty, Eze Wilson Egbo; as well as members of the Umunneochi Legislative Council.
Addressing participants at the gathering, the State Coordinator of Abia Arise, Mazi Nkem Okoro, expressed satisfaction with the commitment and enthusiasm demonstrated by members in Umunneochi and reaffirmed the movement’s resolve to continue mobilising and sensitising citizens at the grassroots in support of the vision, policies, and achievements of Governor Alex Otti’s administration.
Okoro further called on members to remain united, focused, and resilient in advancing the ideals of good governance and transformational leadership across the state.
Speaking at the event, Mayor Sunny Afurobi commended members of Abia Arise for their loyalty, dedication, and unwavering support for the progressive agenda of the current administration in Abia State.

He noted that the government of Governor Alex Chioma Otti has continued to demonstrate purposeful leadership, transparency, infrastructural transformation, and people-oriented governance across the state.
The Mayor urged residents of Umunneochi to remain steadfast in their support for the administration, stressing that the visible developmental strides recorded across Abia State are evidence of a government committed to restoring dignity, trust, and sustainable progress.
Afurobi also assured the people of the council area of his determination to continue delivering impactful projects and programmes across all sectors, to leave the local government better than he met it.
Also speaking, Hon. Mathias Nwachi Ume praised the leadership of Abia Arise at the state, local government, and ward levels for sustaining grassroots engagement and political sensitisation, and encouraged stakeholders to continue working together in promoting peace, unity, and development in Umunneochi and across Abia State.
In his remarks, the Umunneochi Coordinator of Abia Arise, Chief Innocent Ejiuwa, urged members to remain united and unwavering in their support for the present administration.
According to him, Governor Otti’s leadership has ushered in renewed hope, accountability, infrastructural development, and effective governance in Abia State, adding that sustained grassroots support remains essential to consolidating these gains.
His Royal Majesty, Eze Wilson Egbo, who was invited to bless the kolanut during the meeting, lauded Governor Otti’s leadership qualities and developmental achievements and commended the Governor’s commitment to good governance, infrastructural transformation, and the restoration of public confidence in leadership across the state.
The monarch described the ongoing positive changes in Abia as clear evidence of visionary and purposeful leadership geared towards the prosperity and advancement of the people.
Delivering the vote of thanks, the Deputy Coordinator of Abia Arise in Umunneochi LGA, Ogbuehi Chibuisim Alagor, expressed appreciation to Mayor Sunny Afurobi for his logistical and moral support towards strengthening the movement, and commended the council chairman for his fatherly role and urged him to sustain his developmental initiatives within the local government.
Alagor also stressed the need for collective efforts among members and stakeholders to ensure comprehensive political success for the party in Umunneochi.
The interactive session provided a platform for open dialogue, exchange of ideas, and strategic engagement among participants, further strengthening collective resolve to sustain the progress and achievements of the present administration in Abia State.
The meeting ended on a positive note, with members of Abia Arise in Umunneochi expressing confidence in the leadership of Governor Alex Chioma Otti and reaffirming their commitment to supporting efforts aimed at building a greater and more prosperous Abia State.
