It is real; no longer hearsay, speculation, rumours or low-toned whisperings. Hon. Barr. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha Ph.D, OON, the immediate past Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Federal Republic of Nigeria, has formally expressed her intentions to contest the House of Representatives seat of Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency under the banner of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
This declaration is in line with the state-given rights for citizens’ participation in democratic processes and governance under the 1999 Nigerian Constitution as Amended, which provides inter alia, that elections into State Houses of Assembly and the National Assembly shall have no tenure limitations. This means that a citizen shall have the right to be a member of a State House of Assembly or the National Assembly to the extent that his/her constituents are ready to vote him/her in.
One of the striking intentions of this provision in our extant Constitution is in order not to ensure that the legislature or Parliament is not bereft of Men and Women of great insight and foresight in the process of nation-building through law-making.
There are legions of legislators across democratic countries of the world whose continous participations in parliaments/National Assembly have spanned over twenty years. Could it be political patronage from the leaders of those Countries? No, the Parliament/National Assembly is not a place for dullards.
The Parliament/National Assembly is a place where laws that change the fortunes of nations and the lives of citizens are made. It is a place for conglomeration of firebrands, politically articulated minds, those who have sagacity and aura, and leveraging on these qualities, attract humongous capital developments to their constituencies.
The declaration of Adaejiagamba to run for Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency by 2027 was in pursuit of her personal rights under the constitution of Nigeria and to actualize her full-scale developmental vision for the Constituency.
Our Amazon, Adaejiagamba Hon. Barr Nkeiruka Onyejeocha Ph.D., is standing her Federal House of Representatives campaign for 2027 on the springboard of competence and capacity, experience and expertise, quality bills sponsorship and impactful motions, attractions of capital projects and immediate completion of enlisted ones, massive rain of Federal jobs Placements and improved care for the elderly and the downtrodden. She is not canvassing sentiments and emotional appeals. Both are enemies of effective and productive representations.
Adaejiagamba is not obsessed with power but has a call of duty to public Service with destiny. Her seamless political trajectories still in motion should have been a pointer to deluded minds who keep antagonizing her ever-rising political profile, to the unassailable truth that “Power comes from God”.
The massive followership she enjoys from the good people of Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency testifies to the truth that God works through human agencies. Her declaration to run, few days back, at her country home in Ngodo-Ukwu Isuochi, Umunneochi LGA, witnessed the intentional gathering of political gladiators from Isuikwuato and Umunneochi LGAs, majority of whom were the opposition figureheads who fought against the actualisation of her mandate in 2023.
Those great leaders poured out their souls in emotion laddened speeches decrying the loss of the voice of Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency on the floor of the Green Chambers of the National Assembly Abuja and went further to seal their resolved determination to bring the Constituency back to its rightful place and position in the National Assembly through the return of Hon. Barr Nkeiruka Onyejeocha to the Green Chambers, by 2027.
That was pure support, devoid of coercion or undue influence, but a demonstration of desire for quality leadership through efficient representation.
For those members of academia who have reduced themselves to political essay writers for inept politicians and those other back-seat drivers who claim to know it all, Adaejiagamba, Hon.Barr Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, AKAJIUGO 1 of Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency, is intentional and passionate about developing our Federal Constituency. She is protected by law to seek to serve Ndi Isuikwuato and Ndi Umunneochi again at the Green Chambers of the National Assembly.
Her launchpad is built on a determined commitment to the betterment of Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency and her people. She is not canvassing sentiments but competence and capacity.
