Barely 24 hours after the Federal Government relieved all the six aviation agencies’ Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of their duties, Mr. Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development has announced the removal of all the directors in the parastatals.
A statement by Mr. Oluseyi Odutayo, the Head of Public Affairs in the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, said that the removal was sequel to the ongoing reorganisation in the sector.
Keyamo stated that the removal of the directors was with immediate effect and directed them to hand over to the most senior officer in their various directorates.
The directors of the affected agencies are the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NiMET), Nigeria Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and the Nigeria Safety and Investigation Bureau (NSIB).
The statement, however, said that all the agencies’ Board Secretaries and Legal Advisers are not affected by this directive.
