A prominent Isuochi-born entrepreneur and philanthropist, Chief Nwabunna Achu (Akubuiro), has expressed profound appreciation to the Executive Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, for what he described as “visible and far-reaching transformation” across the state in less than three years of purposeful leadership.
Chief Achu, who is the Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director of Ken Nab & Sons Ltd, noted that Governor Otti’s administration has reinvigorated socio-economic life in Abia, particularly through the restoration of the historic commercial vibrancy of Aba and the administrative rebirth of Umuahia, alongside a measurable improvement in the standard of living of citizens and residents.
He commended the governor’s remarkable milestones, which he said reflect a steadfast commitment to good governance, transparency, and transformational leadership anchored on accountability and results.
“I am particularly grateful to Your Excellency for the restoration of peace and security in Umunneochi Local Government Area since you assumed office. Your decisive actions have brought a sense of safety and relief to our people, especially after years of being held hostage by kidnappers and bandits. For this, we are profoundly thankful,” Chief Achu stated.
He further applauded the administration’s infrastructural push, highlighting ongoing and proposed projects that are opening up rural economies and enhancing connectivity.
According to him, the ongoing construction of the Mbala–Umuaku–Ngodo Road and the Amagu–Amata Umuelem Road stand as critical arteries that will boost trade, mobility, and integration within the region.
He also lauded the anticipated commencement of reconstruction works on the long-abandoned and damaged Mmam Bridge, describing it as a long-awaited intervention that will significantly ease movement and economic activities.
Chief Achu also acknowledged the governor’s vision in stimulating local commerce through initiatives such as the proposed modern night market, which he said would expand economic opportunities and support small and medium-scale enterprises.
Beyond infrastructure, he observed that the government’s intervention in social sectors has been impactful, citing the retrofitting of schools and primary healthcare centres in Umunneochi as a demonstration of a people-focused governance model that prioritizes human capital development and community well-being.
While commending the administration’s strides, Chief Achu also urged the governor to deepen government presence in Isuochi, drawing attention to critical gaps that require urgent intervention.
He specifically noted the deplorable condition of access roads and the absence of functional primary healthcare facilities in Ihie and Achara communities, stressing that addressing these challenges would further consolidate the gains already recorded across Umunneochi Local Government Area.
He further noted that Abia State under Governor Otti has witnessed commendable progress in critical sectors including health, education, civil and public service reforms, urban renewal, power supply, and the ease of doing business.
These efforts, he said, have collectively created an enabling environment for investors to thrive and for businesses to operate with renewed confidence.
Describing Aba as the heartbeat of Ndigbo’s economic and cultural life, Chief Achu emphasized that the governor’s massive infrastructural renewal in the city is restoring its pride of place as a leading commercial hub, while strengthening its role as a unifying centre for Igbo enterprise and heritage.
He concluded by urging sustained support for the administration, expressing optimism that the current trajectory of development would consolidate Abia’s emergence as a model of good governance and inclusive growth in Nigeria.
