He reportedly passed away on October 6, 2025, at the age of 80.
His passing was confirmed in a statement issued by his family on Monday, describing it as a “glorious transition” from a lifetime of devoted service to eternal rest.
“He was a faithful soldier of the cross who devoted his life to spreading the gospel with passion and integrity. His teachings, prophetic insights, and mentorship have left a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire believers for generations to come,” the family said.
For over six decades, Rev. Dr. Ukpai stood as a towering figure in Christian ministry, an evangelist, teacher, and prophet whose dynamic preaching and demonstrations of faith transformed lives across Nigeria and beyond.
His message of hope, healing, and salvation resonated deeply with millions, and his evangelistic campaigns became powerful platforms for revival and renewal.
Widely revered as a spiritual general and father of faith, Dr. Ukpai’s ministry reached far beyond the pulpit. He founded and nurtured churches, educational institutions, and humanitarian projects that continue to impact lives globally.
Beyond his public ministry, he was remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, and compassionate mentor to many who saw in him a model of humility, service, and unwavering faith.
The family expressed deep gratitude for his remarkable life and enduring impact, adding that while they mourn his earthly departure, they rejoice that “he has finished his race and is now resting in eternal praise.”
