– Asagwara Denies Being Political Aide To The Mayor
Mr. Ndubuisi Ike, Mayor of Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State has described as “slanderous and defamatory,” statements and publications credited to him by an online media platform (not Daily Newslead) alleging that he said that Governor Alex Otti of Abia State had “promised to settle him with the Umunneochi Local Government Chairmanship seat.”
In a statement titled “Slanderous And Defamatory Statements Against Me,” and made available to newsmen on Wednesday afternoon, Mayor Ike described the publication as “false, wicked, from the pit of hell” and should be discountenanced in every respect.
“My attention has been drawn to slanderous and defamatory statements and publications against me. I want to state categorically that they are false, wicked, from the pit of hell and should be discountenanced in every respect. Our lawyers are studying the statements and publications and they will advise me accordingly,” he said.
Ike stated that the person to whom an audio message, the details of which are the figment of his imagination, was attributed, is not his PA and has never been his PA, noting that those behind the publications had tried worse things and are said to be priming themselves to do more.
“They are desperate in a situation that calls for all hands to be on the deck, to make Umunneochi and Abia better. If you know where we are coming from, you can guess where we are going to,” he said.
The Mayor thanked the general public for their continued support for his administration’s match to building a model local government council in Umunneochi in particular, and Abia State in general.
Meanwhile, Mr. Jude Osy Asagwara (mentioned in the said publication), has urged the general public to ignore any publication presenting him as political aide to anyone, including Mayor Ndubuisi Ike.
Asagwara said the publication is being circulated by those he described as “agents of destruction” branding him as P.A. to Mayor Ndubuisi Ike and other spurious tales, describing it as “simply the handiwork of those on smear campaign mission.”
“I am just a good Nigerian from Isuochi that admires proactive leadership. As a result, I stand firm for whoever from my constituency that has the interest of the masses at heart…
“Before now, I have always been there for our great Amazon Dame Nkeiruka Onyejeocha…, Dr. Oluebube Chukwu…. does it mean that I am a political aide to all these people just because I wrote positive things about them, just like I did for Mayor Ndubuisi Ike?
“For the records, Hon. Asagwaram Jude Osy is not a political aide to any leader, Mayor Ndubuisi Ike inclusive…. rather, I am a good Nigerian who values quality leadership and selfless leaders and hardly sits on the fence when the enemies want to destroy their hard earned image.
“Mayor Ndubiisi Ike is not a politician, as a result, everyone throws tantrum at him thus my desire to write good about him because he has truly performed. And those who never wished him well went out of their ways to recruit mindless people to paint him dark..
“Please, leave Mayor Ndubuisi Ike alone and rather attack me….I am not his appointee neither am I on his pay roll,” Asagwara explained.
